Nokia makes its Booklet 3G available for pre-order

The well-known Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has recently ventured into the untried netbook territory, making the Nokia Booklet 3G available for pre-order for £650, from the company’s website.

Though Nokia has not officially disclosed the UK launch date of its Booklet 3G, which expectedly spells a new track for the company which has fallen much behind its smartphone market rivals, it is being speculated that the netbook will likely be released in January 2010.

Surprisingly, the concept of the Nokia Booklet 3G took root from the long battery life of the Nokia phones, and the device has essentially been built around that idea. As such, the company has tried its hand at using the performance-driven mobile phone batteries for a netbook!

The first glimpse at the Nokia Booklet gives an instant impression that the device is a very stylish and a well-designed one that can easily give some of the established competitors a run for their money in the ‘looks’ department.

Some of the notable features of the Nokia Booklet, which runs Windows 7, include Intel Atom Z530 1.6 GHz processor; 10.1-inch screen; 1GB RAM; 3G; 120GB HDD; 1.3 megapixel webcam, HSPA, HDMI, USB, Bluetooth; Ethernet; Wi-Fi; 3.5mm audio and mic jack; SD card; and a Li-ion battery.

The one-piece, joint-free base of the Booklet is made of aircraft quality aluminum, and the heat created is dispelled through the Booklet’s chassis.
